The Peculiar Widows and Orphans Support Program
In many communities across Uganda, widows and orphans represent some of the most vulnerable groups. Cultural stigma, economic hardship, and lack of support systems leave widows isolated and struggling to provide for their families. Orphans, on the other hand, often grow up without parental love, guidance, or basic provision, making them highly vulnerable to poverty, abuse, and exploitation.
At The Peculiar Love Foundation, we believe that God’s heart beats for widows and orphans. As James 1:27 declares:
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
This is the driving force behind our Widows and Orphans Support Program, a holistic initiative designed to restore dignity, hope, and opportunity to these precious lives.

Impact
Through the Widows and Orphans Support Program:
-
Widows regain their dignity, confidence, and ability to provide for their children.
Orphans find not only a roof over their heads, but also love, care, and a bright future through education.
Communities are transformed as vulnerable households become pillars of strength rather than statistics of suffering.
Every story of a widow starting her own business, or an orphan graduating from school, is a testimony of hope restored through God’s love.
Why It Matters
Widows and orphans are not a burden to society — they are treasures to be loved, nurtured, and empowered. Supporting them is not just charity, but obedience to God’s command to care for the least among us.
With your partnership, a widow can become self-reliant, an orphan can go to school, and a family can be lifted from despair to hope. Together, we can rewrite their stories for generations to come.
