The Peculiar Girl Child Empowerment Program
The Peculiar Girl Child Empowerment Program
In many communities across Uganda, the girl child remains one of the most vulnerable groups. Poverty, cultural practices, and gender inequality often rob girls of their right to education, safety, and dignity. Many drop out of school due to lack of fees or menstrual hygiene supplies, while others are forced into early marriages or subjected to abuse. As a result, countless young girls are denied the opportunity to fulfill their God-given potential.
The Peculiar Girl Child Empowerment Program, under The Peculiar Love Foundation, was birthed to protect, uplift, and equip girls to live with dignity, pursue education, and become confident women of influence in their communities. We believe that when you empower a girl, you empower an entire generation.
What We Do
Our program is built around four pillars:
-
Education Support
-
Scholarships for vulnerable girls at risk of dropping out of school.
Provision of scholastic materials, school uniforms, and exam fees.
Advocacy against child marriage and for equal access to education.
-
-
Menstrual & Hygiene Care
-
Distribution of reusable sanitary pad kits and hygiene packs.
Health education workshops teaching girls about reproductive health, personal hygiene, and self-care.
Engaging parents and teachers in breaking the stigma around menstruation.
-
-
Mentorship & Life Skills
-
Empowerment sessions where girls are mentored by strong, faith-filled women.
Training in leadership, self-confidence, financial literacy, and career guidance.
Counseling for girls who have faced abuse or trauma, helping them heal and rediscover hope.
-
-
Spiritual & Emotional Growth
-
Discipleship programs to help girls grow in their faith and identity in Christ.
Youth camps, Bible study groups, and counseling that encourage them to value themselves as daughters of God.
-
Impact
The Peculiar Girl Child Empowerment Program has already given hundreds of girls a chance to stay in school, overcome stigma, and build a brighter future. Many girls testify that receiving a scholarship or even a simple hygiene kit has restored their dignity and given them renewed confidence.
Parents and guardians also report positive change — fewer early marriages, reduced school dropouts, and healthier family conversations about the value of educating girls. The program is raising a new generation of girls who are bold, Christ-centered, and determined to rise above cultural and economic limitations.
Partnerships & Volunteers
This outreach thrives through the support of donors who sponsor girls’ education, provide hygiene kits, or fund mentorship camps. Volunteers, especially women leaders, teachers, and health professionals, play a key role in training, counseling, and inspiring girls to dream big.
Why It Matters
A girl with education, confidence, and faith has the power to transform her life, her family, and her community. Yet without intervention, countless girls remain at risk of poverty, exploitation, and lost potential. Through the Peculiar Girl Child Empowerment Program, we stand in the gap to say: “Every girl matters. Every girl deserves a future. Every girl is loved by God.”

The Peculiar Widows and Orphans Support Program
Widows and orphans represent some of the most vulnerable groups. Cultural stigma, economic hardship, and lack of support systems leave widows isolated and struggling to provide for their families. Orphans, on the other hand, often grow up without parental love, guidance, or basic provision, making them highly vulnerable to poverty, abuse, and exploitation.

The Peculiar Family Support Program
Strong families are the foundation of healthy communities. Yet many families in Uganda struggle under the weight of poverty, abandonment, illness, or displacement. When families break down, children are left vulnerable to abuse, neglect, or dropping out of school.

Every December, as families around the world gather to celebrate Christmas, many vulnerable households in Uganda face the painful reality of lacking even the simplest meal or gift to mark the season. Widows, single mothers, orphans, the elderly, and entire communities often go through the holidays in silence and need.
